Brian M. Levine, M.D., Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Brian M. Levine began his medical career in 1974, after graduating from The University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. He then completed a Pediatric internship and residency at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles in 1977. After six years of private pediatric practice in Orange County, California, Dr. Levine next completed an Anesthesiology residency program at The University of California, Irvine, as well as a Pediatric Anesthsia and Intensive Care Fellowship at The Children's Hospital Boston. Dr. Levine is Board Certified in both Pediatrics and Anesthesia. His clinical experience encompasses 30 years of caring for both pediatric and adult patients.
He has been a member of The American College of Chest Physicians, The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, The American Academy of Pediatrics and The American Society of Anesthesiology.He has also been a member of the Cough Task Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
In 2005, Dr. Levine realized that his extensive experience in airway management could be beneficial in the treatment of patients with a persistently troublesome cough. He then became the founder and Medical Director of The Cought Center, located in Orange County, California. The Cough Center remains today as the only independent clinic in the USA dedicated, entirely, to the treatment of cough.
The establishment and success of The Cough Center has represented a new direction in healthcare. Dr. Levine has become a leading expert and lecturer in cough management in the United States. He has been interviewed by numerous television stations and participated in several radio interviews across the country.
Dr. Levine is devoted to providing solutions and guidance to millions of Americans who suffer from respiratory problems, especially persistent cough.
William E. Berger, M.D., MBA - Chief Medical Officer
William E. Berger, M.D., MBA, received his medical degree from The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1973. He then completed an internship and residency program in Pediatrics at the UCLA Medical Center in 1976. Dr. Berger pursued additional training at the National Jewish Hospital and Research Center where he served as a Fellow in Allergy and Immunology from 1976-1978. Board Certified in both pediatrics and allergy and immunology, Dr. Berger founded the Allergy and Asthma Associates of Southern California Medical Group in 1981 in Mission Viejo, California, where he practices both adult and pediatric allergy.
In 1995, Dr. Berger established the Southern California Research Center, focusing on respiratory and allergy clinical research projects. To further his educational goals, in 1997 Dr. Berger received his master's degree in business administration from the Graduate School of Management of the University of California, Irvine. He holds dual appointments as clinical professor at the College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Allergy and Immunology, and adjunct professor of Health Care Management in the Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Berger has served as president of the Orange County and California Societies of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He has also been a member of the Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters, chairman of the Managed Care Committee of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology, and chairman of the Mission Hospital Institutional Review Board. Dr. Berger is past president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, a professional organization that represents more than 4,000 allergy and asthma specialists throughout the United States and from many foreign countries. A former television medical correspondent for the Orange County Newschannel, Dr. Berger is the author of many academic papers and lay press articles in the field of allergy, asthma and immunology, including the recently published book "Asthma for Dummies".
